The Constitution since 9/11 has been routinely trampled on by the government. The government uses terrorism and other crimes as an excuse to increase surveillance and collect records on the American People. Human Rights have also been in jeopardy, especially of those who have been accused of plotting to engage in terrorist acts. This has been happening for decades to some extent but has greatly gotten more extreme since 9/11. You can read online many true cases of Americans that have been unfairly targeted by the police state simply for holding unpopular views and being vocal on speaking those, political activist, and those who hold anti-government views. The federal police power has expanded way beyond what is Constitutional and what our founders and earlier administrations supported. The Patriot Act, The National Defense Authorization Act, torture of so called enemy combatants, the assassination of an American Citizen by their own government, increased surveillance of the American people in both public and private, increased attempts to create the great firewall of America on the internet, and other occurrences are stark examples of our Constitution being trampled on by fascist in the government on both sides of the aisle. They always say it's for our own good, if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear, the only ones who have to worry are those who are doing something they shouldn't be doing, but these are the same things all fascist have used throughout history. Adolph Hitler was able to convince millions of Germans in the 1930's to follow him and his agenda to create a police state, and they did often right into their own peril. Now I am not calling our political leaders Nazi's, but I am suggesting we are slowly moving in that direction. Three presidents from today what will they be like if we continue down this dark path of the slow assent into fascism. Too many Americans have bought into the government's propaganda from both sides of the aisle, too many have given into fear, and too many have too easily handed over their rights. Every week or two a new decision, a new law being brewed up, a new story to make us less free and more afraid of the future. It's time we demand our leaders stand up for liberty and the Constitution, against fascism and authoritarianism, and stand for the 99% not the 1%!
