This video is just a small taste of what is going on in Syria.  The truth is far more ugly then this video portrayed.  The truth is so ugly hardly anyone could stand to watch it if the full weight of the truth was shown.  Men, women, and children are being killed and being tortured everyday in Syrian government prisons.  That is what is most disturbing of all Bashar al-Assad and his regime are actually targeting ordinary civilians and not just the rebel fighters.  His regime does not even spare young children and many of them have been killed in very brutal ways.  Many older children, teenagers, and younger men have been sent to government prisons and have been abused, tortured, and some even killed.  Entire families have been slaughtered.  Crimes committed against the Syrian people are so severe and depraved many of the crimes are hard to even read about.  There is no end to the cruelty, savagery, and depravity of the Assad regime.   

Entire families have had their house broken in by government militias and were massacred one by one, yes even the children were not spared in many cases.  Women and girls have been subject to rape by the government militias.  One story I read a young boy watched his father as they were walking be shot and brutally killed with automatic weapon fire right in front of his eyes.  Another story a young girl came out of her house after the gunfire was over only to find her mother who she thought was still at the market lying near her house in a pool of blood.  There was another story about a younger teenage boy who had been sent to a Syrian prison for protesting against the regime and was tortured brutally, having fingernails removed, lacerations to his body, had bruises all over his body from the frequent beatings, cigarette burns, and his genitals had been cut off he died from his wounds.  Another story a young woman was captured by the Syrian government militia and was taken back to the police headquarters and was called a 'worthless bitch and dog' and was raped by three of the men.  Another story a man was found dead in a ditch with his entire throat not just cut but cut out.  The people who found him realized this was a man who was singing chants against Bashar the day before.  The regime was sending a message you dare not speak against Bashar. 

Bashar al-Assad has been elevated by the regime and supporters as the most powerful leader in the world.  Some take that further and say he is a God.  They said to one young man they captured "Bashar is your God now you worthless Sunni dog".  Bashar al-Assad thinks he is a God not unlike Hitler, Stalin, and Caligula.  He thinks he is Syria's only hope and savior but the truth is he is Syria's nightmare and destroyer.  Bashar is a weak coward who is nothing without his military but he is stubborn and narcissistic enough he will not step down.  Bashar is a known habitual liar nothing he says can be believed he tells everyone what they want to hear.  Bashar is a charming and cunning man but that is just a front underneath he is a vicious and cruel man.  This man would like Pharaoh of the Old Testament sacrifice every first-born male child in Syria probably even his own if he thought it would allow him to stay in power.  There is no reasoning with Bashar al-Assad, his crimes he ordered done are of such a nature there is no chance for making amends, and the only thing you can do with such a man is capture and imprison him for the rest of his natural life or kill him.  Overthrowing Bashar al-Assad will not fix all of Syria's problems but it will greatly reduce the mass killings and enable a new democratically elected reformer government to take over to deal with the challenges.  I say to allow this man to stay in power is like the European appeasers of Hitler and the pacifist in the United States at that time.  Evil this great can not be allowed to long continue and must be brought to an end!
